This term Year 4 learnt about the families of the orchestra, focusing on brass instruments. They listened to brass music, identifying the instruments and learnt the story and song about Tubby the Tuba. Later in the term, we watched a percussion and dance group called STOMP, who make rhythms and beats using an array of found objects, such as dustbin lids and pots and pans. The class then made their own percussion piece, notating their rhythms in a percussion grid. Here are some of the results.
